Class 4 Laser Therapy in Gulfport

Laser therapy on footLaser therapy is a safe, drug-free, non-surgical approach to pain relief. It works by directing infrared light into the affected tissues anywhere in the body where there is pain.

How It Works

The light interacts with the tissues at a cellular level, increasing the cell’s metabolic function. This in turn allows for more nutrients to pass into the cells, jump-starting the cell’s power plant so the cell can function at a higher level. Laser therapy facilitates healing and tissue repair at a rate that the body could not achieve on its own, speeding the healing process so you get out of pain faster.

Our Approach

Dr. Spencer has extensive training using the Summus Lasers Class IV Laser for any type of neuromusculoskeletal complaint, from head to toe. Our laser is FDA-approved for these uses, and offers safe pain relief, especially when used in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments.

Some of the main conditions we use this modality for include

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Headaches
  • Knee pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Sciatic pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • TMJ

We also use laser therapy for some of our spinal decompression patients. By using Laser therapy first, we can relieve their pain to the point that they are able to get on the decompression table for their session.

When combined with chiropractic adjustments, the laser therapy can help the soft tissues heal so they are able to hold your adjustment longer, rather than pulling you right back out of alignment.

What to Expect

Lasers have a scary connotation for some, but this modality is safe and completely painless. Some patients report feeling nothing at all during therapy, while others find laser therapy very soothing. Your therapy will last between 3 and 30 minutes, depending on your specific protocol.
